City of Tornio Employment Services

The City of Tornio Employment Services are aimed at residents who are unemployed long-term and seeking work, and who have received over 300 days of unemployment benefits from Kela or who have been continuously unemployed for at least 12 months.

The goal of our work is to improve the working life readiness of customers with a long history of unemployment. Our objective is to promote employment, particularly through the open labor market but also by arranging fixed-term employment in the various city administration sectors.

Employment in companies and organizations is promoted by granting municipal employment allowances. Summer jobs in the city administration sectors are arranged for school-aged children and students. Summer job vouchers are provided for comprehensive school pupils and students in upper secondary schools and universities of applied sciences to facilitate employment in companies and organizations.
