Aine Art Museum
Aine Art Museum is an active meeting place for fine arts in Tornio. The art museum offers exhibitions from the permanent collection, temporary exhibitions, workshops, and lectures. Aine Art Museum was born from the love of art shared by Eila and Veli Aine, residents of Tornio. The collection of the Aine Pictorial Art Foundation, which was established in 1974, forms the basis for the Aine Art Museum operations. The museum was opened in 1986.
The permanent collection of the Aine Pictorial Art Foundation represents Finnish visual arts from the yearly 19th century until today. The collection emphasizes Finnish expressionists from the beginning of the 20th century and the Prisma-group from the 1950´s and 1960´s.
The growing collection of Aine Art Museum contains works of modern and contemporary art. The museum emphasizes on the contemporary art.

The museum is located in central Tornio in the Rajakartano building. Rajakartano is designed by Tornio based architect Matti Porkka.

Everyone’s Birthdays: A Million Trees to Finland x Aine Art Museum
Wed 10.6. at 15:30 Discussion event with Nina Backman and Pekka Juntti, language Finnish, free entry and coffee
Thur 11.6. at 13–16 as part of A Million Trees for Finland, Nina Backman will distribute free tree seedlings in front of the museum. Seedlings can be planted on private land or in areas designated by the City of Tornio. Free event

Come and learn about a plant-themed artwork from the Aine Art Museum’s collection through a guided presentation by curator Amanda Hakoköngäs and create your own artwork in the museum’s art workshop at the Arboretum!
FOKUS: Collection on the Road presents a work from 1943 by Birger Carlstedt, a pioneer of Finnish modern art.
In the art workshop, participants will create prints using the monotype technique and leaves collected from nature. The workshop is suitable for all ages and is free of charge. No advance registration is required.
