School transport in pre-primary, basic and special needs education

School transport allowance is determined according to the main residence stated in the population register. This means that pupils may only have one home address from which school transport is provided.

School transport is provided without the need for a separate application:

  • for pupils in grades 1 to 3, if the shortest route to the local school is over three kilometers
  • for pupils in grades 4 to 9, if the shortest route to the local school is over five kilometers
  • winter transport for pupils in grades 4 to 6 whose route to school is over 3–5 km from the start of November until the start of the winter break week
  • school transport for special needs classes and groups will be provided on a case-by-case basis.
